Green PHOLED screen and floating touch technology for Samsung Galaxy S4

Samsung Galaxy S4

Early this year, you’ve seen a lot of rumors about Samsung’s upcoming latest flagship smartphone, Galaxy S4. The latest is again coming from Sammobile website and they said that the Galaxy S4 will sport an AMOLED screen plus a new green PHOLED material, and will also come with the floating touch technology that was first seen on Sony Xperia Sola.

Going back to the green PHOLED thing, this material uses green-yellow color combination that makes these AMOLED screen 25% more efficient. This thing will also provide better battery life compared to other devices. As for the floating touch thing, this feature will allow you to hover your finger above the screen without touching it directly. The best use of this technology is when you browse and choose links in your mobile web browser.

According also to Sammobile, the other confirmed specifications of Samsung Galaxy S4 are as follows:

  • The device will run Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean, but planned to be updated to Android 4.2.2 shortly after the release (within the same month).
  • New camera feature called Samsung Orb which basically shoots 360 degree photos or better known as Photosphere to other devices.
  • 13 megapixels camera
  • Exynos Octa chip processor
  • 2GB RAM

So maybe you’re confused now of what’s the real specs of this device because there are too many prototypes. Anyway, let’s just wait until March 14 this year in New York, and let’s hear it all from Samsung. There will be also a live feed by Samsung on Youtube and Facebook so watch out for that.
